Women in Public Affairs Award

Beginning in 2026, PAAC will recognize a woman who has shown excellence in public affairs through managing complex issues, engaging stakeholders, upholding integrity, communicating persuasively, and leading with innovation — while elevating both the profession and the role of women within it.

The nominee(s) is/are currently a "Woman in Public Affairs" engaged in a role related to public affairs, government relations, or advocacy either for an organization or as a consultant.

We invite members of PAAC to nominate an individual, or individuals, for this award by August 7, 2026 (end of business day). At the close of nominations, the Women in Public Affairs Award winner will be selected and honoured at the PAAC Annual Conference on November 24, 2026 in Toronto, Ontario.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:‍

Effectively manages complex issues and diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrates professionalism and integrity, especially in high-pressure situations.
Communicates clearly and persuasively on issues of public relevance.
Brings innovative approaches to the practice of public affairs.
Leads in raising the profile of both the profession and women in public affairs.
Current and/or previous affiliation with the Public Affairs Association of Canada is considered an asset.

NOMINATIONS MUST INCLUDE:

A letter of recommendation for the nominee.
A short profile of their current role in Public Affairs (job title, organization).
