Harvey Cooper

Director

Working both in Canada and overseas, Harvey Cooper has honed an
expertise over the last 3 decades in assisting the non-profit,
co-operative and voluntary sectors effectively represent their
interests to government at all jurisdictional levels. He recently
semi-retired from the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada where
he served as the organization's Deputy Executive Director.

Harvey is has set up his own Government Relations consultancy practise
which includes  a full range of public affairs and communications
expertise including  government and media relations, strategy
development, and  grassroots advocacy campaign development.

Through his experience, Harvey has developed and finely tuned
strategies to ensure that the third sector plays to their essential
organizational strengths. This has resulted in effective advocacy and
a heightened impact in the formulation of public policy at all levels
of government. His ability to gain the trust of and work with
political parties of all stripes is very well regarded by those in
public life, particularly at Queen's Park.

Mr. Cooper was honoured by the province-wide Ontario Co-operative
Association as the inaugural winner of their Spirit Award for work in
Government Relations and Advocacy.

Over the years Harvey has volunteered his time with a number of
community organizations and currently serves as the Membership Chair
on the Board of Directors of the Public Affairs Association of Canada
