Prior to joining CHG’s Toronto office in November 2014, Rick Johnson proudly served as an elected Member of Provincial Parliament for Haliburton Kawartha Lakes-Brock. As an MPP, Rick most rewarding moments were spent with his constituents, while his greatest challenges were met in the numerous political roles he undertook. Today Rick brings his insights to CHG, providing strategic government relations plans and advice that help clients understand and work within the realm of the possible, and reach their goals. Before entering politics, Rick enjoyed a successful career in music. Along with his wife, singer Terri Crawford, Rick wrote and recorded five pop albums and four children’s CDs, and toured extensively throughout Canada. After his defeat in the October 2011 election, Rick attended York University and achieved a Certificate in Dispute Resolution. Over the years Rick has also been involved in many community committees and boards, and has helped raise thousands of dollars in support of a various local and not-for-profit groups. His support for positive public policy that enhances people’s lives remains his driving force.
