PAAC Ontario is excited to offer a mentoring session with three international executives made possible through zoom.

COVID-19 has upended many of our daily routines as well as future career plans. However, it has also presented many career growth opportunities not only in Canada, but also abroad. Have you ever thought of pursuing an international career? Do you have questions about challenges and rewards associated with taking on a global role?

Please join us on Wednesday, June 9th where you will hear from three senior executives about their international careers, how they got there, and key take-aways they would like to share for anyone interested in pursuing an international career.

The event will start with a dynamic panel conversation followed by smaller break-out rooms allowing for more direct question & interactions with our participants and moderator. Attendance is limited – book your spot today!

Panelists:

Audrey Leduc, Senior Manager, Planet-Friendly Practices, McCain Foods

Audrey Leduc is a sustainability professional based in Chicago. 

Her areas of expertise include supply chain optimization, public relations, communications, crisis management, analysis and interpretation of policy issues and legislation specifically in the environmental sector. She began her career in the mining sector before moving to frozen foods two years ago as Sr Manager Planet-Friendly Practices for McCain Foods Limited. Audrey leads the company’s rand new North America sustainability department, she is passionate about setting ambitious planet-friendly targets around Smart & Sustainable Farming, Resource-Efficient Operations, Good Food and Thriving Communities.

Audrey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from McGill University, Canada and an MBA from Exeter University, UK with a focus on international business and sustainability.

Laurel Ostfield, Director General, Communications Department, Asian Investment Infrastructure Bank

Laurel Ostfield is responsible for building AIIB’s brand and driving its communications strategy, which includes media relations, civil society engagement, internal communications, sponsorship and digital communications.

She is also accountable for AIIB’s commitment to transparency through its information disclosure policy. Prior to joining AIIB in December 2016, she led the communications team at Capital One Canada. She has a BA in East Asian Studies from McGill University. Ostfield is from Canada.

A.J.Nichols, Director, Corporate Affairs, Vale

A.J. Nichols is the Director, Corporate Affairs for Vale’s Base Metals Business, headquartered in Toronto, Canada. Previously, he was the Chief Representative of Vale’s Beijing office and General Manager for Corporate Affairs. He lead the Vale China CA and Communications’ team for the planning, deployment and management of national as well as regional and international  issues, policy and regulatory matters, as well as stakeholder relations.  

Prior to moving to Beijing in July 2014, A.J. served as the inaugural Head of Corporate Affairs in the Asia-Pacific region for Vale S.A based in Singapore and as the Director of International Relations and Corporate Affairs for Vale’s Base Metals business from 2007-2012.  Prior to joining Vale, A.J. served as the Chief of Staff at the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C. and in various positions at the Canadian Consulate General of New York City. A.J. is a graduate of Dalhousie University holding a Bachelor of Arts and MBA and is currently enrolled in the Stanford University Graduate School of Business LEAD program.
