Berit Beattie

Co-President

Berit Beattie is a Senior Manager with Canadian Strategy Group (CSG) in Vancouver. She brings experience across federal, provincial, and international politics, with a sophisticated understanding of how government, business, and community interests intersect.

At CSG, Berit advises clients on public affairs strategy, stakeholder engagement, and complex policy issues in highly regulated sectors. Her work includes developing engagement plans, preparing executive-level materials, supporting strategic communications, and helping organizations translate political, regulatory, reputational, and community dynamics into practical decision-making.

Before joining CSG, Berit served as a policy advisor to two former Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Mélanie Joly and the late Marc Garneau. Her work included supporting Canada's relationships in the Americas, advising on military and dual-use export controls, and contributing to international policy files involving global health, diplomacy, and Indigenous foreign policy.

Berit's earlier experience includes constituency and campaign roles at the federal and provincial levels, which helped build her understanding of government processes, political communications, and community engagement. She is also a board member of Zero Ceiling, a Sea-to-Sky non-profit supporting youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Born and raised in Whistler, Berit holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of British Columbia and Sciences Po Paris Campus de Reims. She also holds a Master's in International Security from the Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs.
