Director
Laura Fraser is a researcher in public policy and governance at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, while calling Calgary, Alberta, home. She specializes in resource trade and policy development, particularly between Canada and Europe, exploring how these interactions have shaped Canadian institutions and economic and resource management policies.
Laura also brings expertise from postgraduate studies in Victorian literature, including disability studies and postcolonial studies, which enrich her perspective on Canadian policy and its historical relationship with Europe. Her governance experience includes service on the Board of Governors and leadership of her student association as president during her undergraduate studies. She has worked with Métis Nation Saskatchewan through Johnson Shoyama, linking her Métis heritage to practical policy development.
Although the youngest member of the Board of Directors, Laura is committed to enhancing PAAC’s efforts to link senior Public Affairs leaders with emerging policy leaders. She holds a BA in Liberal Studies (English & Political Science), has completed coursework toward a Master of Arts in English studies, is finishing up her Master of Public Policy, and will be starting a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy in 2026.
